ISSUES & VISION FOR MIDWAY

MIDWAY'S FUTURE IS OUR FUTURE

PRESERVATION

As a longtime member of the Bluegrass Trust for Historic Preservation and through my own passion for housing and history, I am committed to preserving our history, our historical buildings, and valuable farmland. Once we change the landscape, we can't undo it. If we decide to grow, we have to do it in a responsible, appropriate way that fits within the character of our town.

WALKABILITY/BIKEABILITY

I love to take my dog, Louis, on a walk around town. While strides have been made to make Midway more walkable and bikeable, there are still areas that need help. We need to connect East Stephens to Campus Gate, Mill Road, and hopefully, the Homeplace. We need to see the cemetery more connected to the rest of town, so people can easily walk to it. It's time to promote walking, biking, and being surrounded by nature and the community.

TRANSPARENCY

As a City Councilmember, I pledge to be one of the most transparent elected officials. On social media, I will ensure that our residents are aware of the public events that are relevant. As an elected official, it is important that our constituents have all of the information they need. Whether it's a message on social media, a text or call, or an email, I will be open to any questions, comments, or concerns.

COMMUNITY

To me, Midway is the Best Small Town in America. We need to keep it that way. We are oftentimes connected, but I want to see the community come together to support each other. We need to support our small businesses, come to downtown events, and continue to be a connected community.

PUBLIC SAFETY

While some of our roads aren't controlled by the City, I will push for our legislature and other elected officials to listen to our constituents. We shouldn't have to deal with their lack of action. In the meantime, we can continue to push for a police presence that will ticket anyone who is speeding excessively.

ECONOMIC IMPACT

As the son of two Small Business Owners and as a business owner myself, I know just how crucial these small businesses are to our community and economic well-being. We have to continue to support our small businesses, whether that be retail, restaurants, professional, or anything in between. Our community is the strongest when none of the buildings are empty and each business is happy.

As a young professional, I understand that each decision by the City Council has the possibility to affect my future. Each decision is something I may have to deal with. Midway is the place I call home and a place that I could never imagine leaving. I'm tired of not having a voice for my generation. It's why I'm running for Midway City Council.

I want to be a voice not only for younger people in our community but for everyone. When we bring people together, we lead with courage, empathy, and understanding. We can commit ourselves to building a better, brighter future not only for the next generation but for the current one.

I'll be a Councilmember who will show up, listen to the community, and advocate for the betterment of my constituents. If a Midway resident needs something done, I want to be the Councilmember they come to. Whether it's any of the issues above or an issue you want me to focus on, I will always be one text, call, or message away.

With your help, we will move Midway forward together.
