Ian VanSteenbergh has always been guided by the principles and values he learned from his small town in Kentucky. As the son of business owners, the grandson of a farmer and dedicated public servant, and one of the youngest elected officials in the nation, Ian understands that we have more in common than our differences.
Our communities work best when everyone is represented, not just a few. Ian believes in meeting people where they are, treating them with dignity and respect, and advocating for better future for all.

On November 5th, 2024, the people of Midway made history. They took a chance on a then 20 year old to represent them on Midway's City Council. They voted for new voice and a new perspective. They voted for change. They voted for a new generation of leadership.
Ian ran on policies that will make Midway a better place, like fixing roads and sidewalks, investing in our community, and supporting our residents. As councilmember, he will do just that. While he didn't run to be one of the youngest elected officials in the nation, Midway still made history. They elected openly gay, Gen Z, college student to represent them, sending a message to rest of Kentucky, that people deserve a voice that will work hard for them. It was about doing the right thing, a little history just happened to be made.

Y'all means all. Ian is dedicated to putting Kentuckians first with common sense solutions, even when we disagree. As a native of Midway, Kentucky, he learned what it means to care for your neighbor, treat others with dignity and respect, and with hard work, anything is possible.
Ian promised to amplify the voices of the people in our community and fighting for Kentucky values of dignity, hard work, and caring for each other, and thats what he will do. Join us as we work to create a future everyone is proud of.
