ENSURING MIDWAY'S SUCCESS
PRESERVATION
As a longtime member of the Bluegrass Trust for Historic Preservation and through my own passion for housing and history, I am committed to preserving our history, our historical buildings, and valuable farmland. Once we change the landscape, we can't undo it. If we decide to grow, we have to do it in a responsible, appropriate way that fits within the character of our town.
INFRASTRUCTURE
Roads and sidewalks are the glue of our community. It's time that we invest in their upkeep to ensure our city remains beautiful for generations to come. My priority is to ensure our tax dollars go back into the things we use on a day-to-day basis.
WALKABILITY/BIKEABILITY
I love to take my dog, Louis, on a walk around town. While strides have been made to make Midway more walkable and bikeable, there are still areas that need help. We need to connect East Stephens to Campus Gate, Mill Road, and hopefully, the Homeplace. We need to see the cemetery more connected to the rest of town, so people can easily walk to it. It's time to promote walking, biking, and being surrounded by nature and the community.
THE ECONOMY
As the son of two Small Business Owners and as a business owner myself, I know just how crucial these small businesses are to our community and economic well-being. We have to continue to support our small businesses, whether that be retail, restaurants, professional, or anything in between. Our community is the strongest when none of the buildings are empty and each business is happy.
COMMUNITY
The backbone of Midway is our people. I was raised to care for your neighbor and to treat others with dignity and respect. Our community will be a welcoming place for both residents and non-residents alike. Hate has no home here. Regardless of race, gender, or sexuality, everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect.
CONNECTIVITY
As a City Councilmember, I pledge to be one of the most transparent elected officials. On social media, I will ensure that our residents are aware of the public events that are relevant. As an elected official, it is important that our constituents have all of the information they need. Whether it's a message on social media, a text or call, or an email, I will be open to any questions, comments, or concerns.
PUBLIC SAFETY
While some of our roads aren't controlled by the City, I will push for our legislature and other elected officials to listen to our constituents. We shouldn't have to deal with their lack of action. In the meantime, we can continue to push for a police presence that will ticket anyone who is speeding excessively.
